Almost a month after a fire that destroyed their home, Heather and Jeff Busch are still in shock but are learning to cope. Currently, they are staying at Jeff’s dad’s place in their little camper.

The community has banded together to help Heather and Jeff along with their two kids.  Carey Rose, a friend of the Busch family said that it has been really rough for the family but they are doing better.

“They’re staying positive and just taking it one day at a time. They are trying to find a place at the moment but it has been very difficult because their present landlord unfortunately hasn’t had the opportunity to replace their current place and Strathmore has zero vacancy for rentals at the moment. So it has been tricky.”

This Sunday from 4-8, Rose along with Mike’s Bar ad Grill will be hosting a brisket dinner fundraiser for the Busch family. There will be a flat $25 charge for a beer and brisket dinner and all the proceeds will go to the Busch family.

Rose said that she is not exactly sure what they are in need of at the moment but anything would help them out greatly.

Rose shared that it’s really fantastic to see how the community has come together to support Jeff and Heather, “It just goes to show how wonderful Strathmore is and how we care for each other in times like this.”

If you would like to donate to the Busch family, visit the GiveSendGo page that Rose has set up for them. Currently $5,655 has been raised to help them get back on their feet.
