After a brief closure on Sunday afternoon, Lake Louise access was restored.
Initially, Mounties confirmed that due to overcrowding, Lake Louise proper would not be accessible unless one was a resident or has a hotel reservation.
511 Alberta had previously also stated that a traffic advisory was in place on Highway 1 in both directions near Fairview Road.
At approximately, 6:58 p.m. the advisory was lifted.
RCMP noted that the decision to initially close access to Lake Louise came from Parks Canada and that they were assisting in communications.
