There’s one more family summer festival in store for Humboldt and it’s happening this Saturday. Humboldt Landscape and Leisure is hosting its Family Fun Day in conjunction with its grand opening. There is a host of events to entertain everyone in the family.

“We’re going to kick off at about 11:30 with a barbecue that’s going to be operated by the SPCA and sponsored by Modern Meat,” says Humboldt Landscape and Leisure manager Frank Carpentieri. “We’ll have bouncy castles, popcorn and cotton candy. There will be horse and wagon rides, so we’re all looking forward to it.”

Humboldt and area folk music favourite Walter Bushman will provide his wonderful spin on contemporary tunes and classics.

Carpentieri explains that Humboldt Landscape and Leisure’s parent company, Kirsch Construction, have always had a strong connection with the regional SPCA and its efforts to better the lives of animals.

“In the past, we’ve done joint things for fundraising with the SPCA, including our Christmas parties, so we took this opportunity to get them involved with the event, to run the barbecue and take the proceeds. It’s something close to our hearts, and we really enjoy working with them.”

While the kids are enjoying the bouncy structures, parents can look at the wide array of items, from barbecues and summer cooking supplies to landscape supplies and outdoor improvement ideas.

Come on down between 11:30 am and 4:00 pm on Saturday, bring the family, and enjoy a wonderful day in the sunshine at the new Humboldt Landscape and Leisure.
