Lives being changed through Adult & Teen Challenge Brandon –

Brandon’s Adult & Teen Challenge is expanding their programming in the Westman Region.  Over the past year they have reached out to the community in Swan Lake with positive changes taking place.

Aaron Murray is the Brandon’s Adult & Teen Challenge Development Director.  The Brandon organization is excited to see the completion of the lower level of their Super Thrift Store, with programs available on a consistent basis.

“That’s the biggest and exciting thing and I’m really passionate about it,” shares Murray.  “We’ll soon be able to offer weekly groups for men, for women and for families, and we’re also going to have Sunday evening services, called Freedom Church, taking place at 6:30 on Sunday evenings.”

Murray says the building renovation project is 95% complete, with just a few last things to put in place.  “Then we need to get our occupancy permit and if people would like to pray that that comes in smoothly; we’re trying to work on that this month and get it all done.  Also, we’re trying to get some money raised to financially complete the project!”

One year ago, the Brandon team brought their message of hope and freedom to the homeless in Swan River, by literally knocking on doors.  Murray says there are about 100 homeless people living in that community.  They welcomed 30 vulnerable people to their Freedom Church service one evening, as well as 30 church members in the community, and by the end of that evening a young lady joined the program, with a couple from Swan Lake sponsoring her in the Adult & Teen Challenge in Brandon; that young lady’s life is being changed.

Please listen to the rest of this story with Aaron Murray and CJRB’s Betty Sawatzky, where Murray shares more on the Freedom Church in Swan River.

Upcoming fundraisers continue with the next event coming up June 17th, with the North American Fishing Challenge.
