A man from the Cochrane area has died following a serious collision south of town.
Cochrane RCMP Cst. Clayton Gelinas said police responded to the crash at Lower Springbank Road and Township Road 242 at 1:58 p.m. Thursday.
“With a car versus motorcycle. Police, fire, and EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced the single, male driver of the motorcycle deceased.”
The 75-year-old motorcycle driver was from the Cochrane area.
No one in the car was injured.
Police are now investigating the cause.
“They have a collision analyst to determine what occurred.”
Drivers were asked to avoid the area for most of the afternoon as emergency crews responded.
